Xavier Thévenard has won five races in the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc suite of events. He has twice won the flagship 166K race, and has also earned top honors at the 100K CCC, the 120 TDS and the 50K OCC.
This year, Thévenard is joining one of the most stacked UTMB fields in the history of the race, lining up alongside two previous champions (Kilian Jornet, 29, of Spain and Francois D’Haene, 32, of France) as well as a host of other competitors who have previously finished in the top four, including Amerians David Laney, Jason Schlarb and Tim Tollefson.
This film dives deep into Thévenard’s motivations, his training and how he feels going into his third UTMB.
