Filmmaker and trail runner Billy Yang connects with renowned bowhunter and backcountry athlete Cameron Hanes, women’s winner of the 2018 Western States Endurance Run, Courtney Dauwalter and Dauwalter’s husband, Kevin Schmidt, also an avid ultrarunner with more than 20 ultramarathons under his belt, for a weekend of running in the Grand Canyon.

Hanes and Dauwalter run the Rim to Rim to Rim, a 47 (some say 42)-mile out-and-back that tags both rims of the Canyon and gains and loses 10,000 feet of elevation.
