The Monument Valley 50, organized by race director Matt Gunn, takes place tomorrow among the stunning rock formations of the Navajo Nation, along the Utah-Arizona line.
If you can’t make it to the desert this weekend, here’s the next best thing: a video simulation of the entire 50K course, at warp-speed. (The event also includes 50-mile, half-marathon and four-mile distances.)
This Google Earth flyover, above, was created by YouTube user Chas Melichar from the Garmin track of his 2015 race. As he writes in the video description: “Ever wanted to know what it would be like to run an Ultramarathon? Well, now you can… in less than 3.5 minutes!”
