This team of girls in Ethiopia is powerful.

Part of Girls Gotta Run, a nonprofit “dedicated to using Ethiopia’s national sport of running to create safe spaces, expand education and empower young Ethiopian women and their communities,” they train hard. They train to become “faster than the boys,” says Derartu in the film.

Girls Gotta Run is hoping to change the norm for girls in Ethiopia—few complete high school and many are married at a young age.
