Watch: Epic Views at a Canary Islands Ultramarathon
Transvulcania attracts top international competitors, as well as a few thousand other runners, and the stunning scenery is part of the draw.
The Transvulcania Ultramarathon takes place on beautiful La Palma, in the Canary Islands. Along with the flagship 74K distance (which includes a stout 27,500 or so feet of elevation change), there’s a marathon, half-marathon, vertical K and kids’ race.
Transvulcania regularly attracts top international competitors, as well as a few thousand other runners, and surely the scenery is part of what makes it so popular. This 40-second video previews the course in a montage of mountain climbs, clifftop runs and stunning ocean views.
