In the September 2017 Trail Runner issue, Zach Altman, a public land advocate and trail runner from Bozeman, Montana, wrote about his Traverse of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem in Defense of Public Lands.

In the summer of 2017, Altman and two friends ran nearly 250 miles across the largest intact ecosystem left in the lower forty-eight. This video follows them on their week-long journey from Bozeman to Red Lodge, Montana through the landscape surrounding Yellowstone National Park. Their goal was twofold: to empower their community to act in defense of our public lands and inspire adventures across the places they call home.
