On Monday, Emma Coburn took the bronze medal in the Olympic 3000-meter steeplechase, breaking her own U.S. record and becoming the first U.S. woman to medal in that event since it was introduced to the Games, in 2008.

Her love of running extends beyond the track, though. This video, by MSP Films, shows Coburn running the spectacular trails of Crested Butte, Colorado, where she grew up, as she reflects on why she runs.
