Stephanie Howe, who won the Western States Endurance Run in 2014 and placed third there in 2015, is at the top of her ultrarunning game. But she doesn’t do it by running alone. (As we posted this video, Howe was running the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc in Europe.)
A coach and dietitian working toward a Ph.D. in nutrition and exercise physiology, Howe has had to work through injury and figure out how to incorporate running into a busy life. In this video, by former Trail Runner associate editor Ashley Arnold, Howe reflects on how she’s been able to stay competitive in ultrarunning while maintaining balance.
