VIDEO: Racing in the Shadow of the Alps’ Iconic Matterhorn

An ominous pyramid, the 14,692-foot Matterhorn is one of the Alps’ most recognizable peaks. So, naturally, there’s a trail race that takes place in its vicinity.

This video, by David Carlier, is an epic montage from the Matterhorn Ultraks, a series of races up to 46K based in Zermatt, Switzerland. The course takes runners into the high country, where views of glaciers and the race’s ever-present namesake abound.
