A former professional mixed martial arts fighter, Kyle Dietz (whom we profiled in September) got hooked on trail running after a training run took him into a park near his hometown Davenport, Iowa. He quickly dove in to the trail-racing scene. Now, he’s training to be a competitive mountain runner from his low-lying Midwestern locale.

In “Trail Fighter,” a short film by T.C. Worley, Dietz discusses his turn to trail running and travels to Montana to run the state’s competitive Rut 50K. The full six-minute film was recently released, after touring a few cities earlier this year.
