In 2006, Brian Morrison was leading the Western States 100 when he collapsed with a few hundred yards to go. Though his pacers helped him across the finish in first, he was later disqualified for receiving assistance and credited with a DNF.

This year, he returned to Western States in hopes of finally earning his finisher’s belt buckle. “A Decade On,” a forthcoming film by The Ginger Runner, chronicles that journey; the trailer can be viewed above.
