‘A Stitch In Time’ is a meditation on one man’s past, present and future. Examining how they overlap during his endeavor to set a PR in the 24hr ultra-marathon event.

24 years ago Harvey Lewis lined up in his first 24hr event. Not knowing if he would even finish the race he ran 81.25 miles. 24 years later Harvey is one of the most established distance runners in the country, most recently winning the Badwater 135. In December, as a member of the USA national team, he lined up at the 24hr Solstice event with the goal of doubling the distance of his first attempt.

As the race wore on it was clear Harvey would not meet his goal distance, however as he pushed his battered body around that 400m oval a collision between his past, present and future occurred inspiring a vastly different experience than he anticipated – 24 hours, 24 years later
