This winter, ultrarunners Krissy Moehl, Luke Nelson and Jeff Browning embarked on a 106-mile trail run across the future Patagonia National Park in Chile. From jagged peaks to rolling grasslands once devastated by overgrazing, the trio ran through the diverse ecosystems the organization Conservacion Patagonica is seeking to protect by incorporating them into the planned, 640,000-acre park.
While in Chile, Moehl, Nelson and Browning met with Patagonia locals and members of Conservacion Patagonica to learn more about the conservation efforts and how the international trail-running community can get involved. This video tells the story of their journey, set against a stunning backdrop of rushing rivers, sprawling grasslands and glaciated peaks.
