With the mesh uppers of running shoes getting lighter and thinner each year, cold, wet feet can put a real damper (no pun intended) on runs when the weather turns foul. This winterized version of Skechers’ popular “max-cushioned” shoe features a three-layer, water-resistant upper to fend off rain, snow and cold air, as well as a soft, sticky-rubber outsole designed for snow, icy roads and trails. To convert the Ultra Extreme into a 4mm-drop shoe, you can remove the insole, without sacrificing any of the midsole’s pillowy-soft cushioning. The GoRun Ultra Extreme runs true to size with a medium-width toebox.
