Now in its sixth iteration, the ASR 6 offers on-the-fence, one-shoe-quiver runners a solid option. The lightweight shoe incorporates Brooks eco-friendly BioMoGo cushioning, making it the most plush in this review, a welcome feature on hard-packed trails and roads. It exhibits good traction, but can feel unresponsive and a bit “spongy” on rough trails.

The ASR 6 fits comfortably, with plenty of forefoot space, and a solid heel counter offers good stability. The shoe fits medium to wide feet, and is a great option for light-duty trails and roads.

TESTERMONIAL: “I enjoyed the shoe’s traction on muddy, gravelly trails, and the copious cushioning made long descents easier on my temperamental knees.” —Jeb Foster, Denver, CO
