One of the most important aspects of any trail shoe is fit, particularly when long distances and rough terrain are on the horizon. BOA has long pioneered innovative fit with their unique micro-adjustable BOA Fit System, but now, with the La Sportiva Cyklon, they’re debuting an all-new Dynamic Cage™ upper, providing the ultimate in secure, connected trail shoe fit.
The Cyklon’s Dynamic Cage locks in the heel, grounding the foot to the midsole with a connection that’s equal parts snug and fluid, so your foot and the shoe flex and move as one. Not only does this connection improve stability and control on the trail but, as BOA’s Performance Fit Lab testing has shown, it has a significant effect on efficiency and impact reduction.
With an 8mm drop and 7mm lugs, the Cyklon is ideal for taking on rough terrain with lots of vert. Like all BOA-powered shoes, the Cyklon is designed to be fine-tuned to your individual foot via a combination of BOA Fit System components including the L6 Dial, TX4 Laces, and FormTX Lace Guides. The dial allows for split-second micro-adjustments on the trail, while the laces and guides ensure a smooth, streamlined fit across the entire shoe upper.
For long hauls on steep or techy terrain, you want footwear that fits like a second skin while still offering the stability and security of a rugged trail shoe. If you can find a shoe that does that in addition to improving running efficiency and reducing impact, you’re golden.
This is a hard trifecta to find, but the BOA-powered La Sportiva Cyklon offers just that.
