For long summer runs and variable summit conditions, Patagonia’s summer lineup has pieces for every run.
Capilene Cool Lightweight Tank
$39
This ultralight tank is a go-to for steamy summer runs. The breezy scoop neck shape and athletic fit make it feel airy and light without being overly loose, and small side vents add range of motion and breathability. Polygiene anti-odor treatment helps fight the funk for miles, as well as wicks sweat to keep you cool and dry. I particularly like this piece for days when the weather is variable, and you don’t want sweat in your clothes to make you overly cold when conditions change on the summit. This tank is quick-drying and ready to fly.
Nine Trails Short
$65
This is a relaxed, but still performance-oriented short for summer adventures. A generous waistband ensures they won’t ride up or slide down, while an anti-microbial liner keeps things cool and dry on the inside. A DWR finish repels light moisture and wicks sweat. A zippered hip pocket holds keys or a snack. The men’s edition features two zippered pockets on the sides, as well as a drawstring waistband for a secure fit.
Seabrook Zip Neck
This ultra-soft top is perfect for cool starts or chilly campfire nights. Thumbholes and slide-in mitts add extra warmth for hands, and a slight drop hem adds protection without compromising mobility. It’s light enough to stash in a pack, and warm enough to be a snuggly base layer for cool summits. A snug fit lets this piece move with you while you scramble in the alpine, and a zip-neck makes it easy on and off without much added weight.
Switchback Sports Bra
Supportive fabric wicks moisture and feels silky soft against the skin. The cross-back straps allow for support without tugging or pinching, while high-density cups retain their shape after many washes.
Support varies by size, high-impact support for A/B cup sizes, mid-impact support for B/C cup sizes and low-impact support for C/D cup sizes.
Patagonia Duckbill Hat
$35
No fit is complete without a lightweight lid to keep the sun off. Patagonia’s Duckbill Trucker is lightweight and breathable and can be smushed up to fit in a pack. A dark underbill fights glare while a moisture-wicking headband keeps you cool on the move.
