Janji Runpaca Long Sleeve Shirt
Material: 75% cotton, 22.5% pima cotton, 2.5% alpaca
Fit: True to size
Price: $70

Best Features: Soft, light, breathable, warm
Room for Improvement: Women’s version doesn’t have short-sleeve option

The Runpaca line (women’s long sleeve is available here and men’s short sleeve here) by Janji is a soft, light, breathable base layer that integrates alpaca wool. As a baselayer, this shirt performs well by staying breathable, is soft against the skin, is warm and doesn’t need to be washed often.

The high percentage of cotton means it probably shouldn’t be your only epic-expedition baselayer because of the slow-ish drying time if completely soaked. However, wearing a non-synthetic baselayer is always welcome for this reviewer and this shirt is especially soft against the skin. The alpaca isn’t itchy at all and the relaxed fit is comfortable. The women’s version has thumb holes.

The shirts are made in Peru and the materials are sustainably harvested. Perhaps the highlight of this shirt is how feather light it is. It’s comfortable enough to wear around the house and on a long run to keep the sun off your skin or the chill out of your bones.
