YakTrax’s new running-specific traction devices are a vast improvement over the original YakTrax, with removable carbide steel spikes in the forefoot and steel coils through the heel and midfoot. Secure, nylon webbing and rip-and-stick straps over the forefoot keep these from sliding off mid-run. The Run’s high-strength natural rubber can be worn in temperatures as low as minus 41 degrees Fahrenheit, though with time, it’s vulnerable to wear and tear.
