Julbo Resist Sunglasses
Price: $109-190
The Julbo Resist is a slight departure from Julbo’s aerodynamic, technical-sport sunglasses. The Resist leans more toward an urban style—a kind of hybrid between a sport sunglass and a fashion statement. As a middle-distance runner, and someone who loves multitasking apparel, the Resist has become one of my favorite pairs of sunglasses, both on and off the trail.
The sunglasses still feature all of the qualities you expect from Julbo: super lightweight frame, photochromic (transition from clear to tinted, depending on the light) or polarized lenses, a grippy, shock absorbing bridge, sturdy lenses and category 3 sun protection. Julbo lists these shades as women’s, yet I imagine they’re suitable for men with narrower faces as well. The Resist is available in six frame colors ranging from translucent blue with pink accent to black with grey accent. Lenses are either photochromic or polarized.
These sunglasses don’t slip, don’t fog and have a slight wrap to keep the sun and elements out of your eyes.
The Resist came in particularly handy recently on a run when it began snowing. The photochromic lenses lightened up but my eyes were still protected from the large flakes blowing in my face. Additionally, while sitting around the campfire on a recent running and climbing trip, I pulled the shades down after dark to protect my eyes from the swarming campfire smoke.
