Ion Performance Bath Salts can be used with warm water pre-workout or race or cold water for a recovery soak. The Recharge+Recover has ingredients like Epsom salt, eucalyptus, spearmint, peppermint essential oil, citric acid, ginseng, aloe leaf, liquid aloe and coconut oil; the Detox+Cope has ingredients like Epsom Salt, rosemary, beet root powder, bay leaf, zinc oxide, ginseng root, aloe, eucalyptus and spearmint leaf; the Performance Foot Therapy has ingredients like frankincense, turmeric, tea tree, eucalyptus and aloe.
The essential oil aromas were potent upon opening the bags and the salts dissolved quickly. The scents were pleasantly calming. The Recharge+Recover salts mixed easily with cold water after a long run and the tingle of the peppermint was soothing and refreshing. After a 10 minute soak, there was a rejuvenated feeling in my feet and legs. The following morning, I had virtually no foot or ankle soreness. The Foot+Soak formula was used before a workout, mixed with warm water. During the run, there was a noticeable difference in mobility in the foot and ankle and there was a slight pop in my running stride.
Overall, the performance bath salts performed well and would make a great addition to any athlete’s training and recovery routine.
