Wally Hesseltine began running when he was 37. Soon after, he decided he would finish at least one race every single month. Now, some 35 years later, his streak is still going – and includes some 175 ultras, 26 of them 100-milers.

This year, Hesseltine was accepted into the Western States 100 for the first time. If he completed the race within its 30-hour cutoff, he would become the 100-miler’s oldest finisher ever, at age 72.

This film, by Alex Massey and Lucas Vazquez and supported by Clif Bar, tells Hesseltine’s story and follows him as he trains for and races Western.
