3022 ft is a documentary in the works on Alaska’s oldest, toughest and most famous trail race, the Mount Marathon, a roughly three-mile race, straight up and down the 3,022-foot eponymous mountain outside of Seward, Alaska. The race typically draws over 40,000 spectators and is notable for frequently sending participants to the emergency room for injuries sustained on the rugged, trail-less course. In 2012, runner Michael LeMaitre disappeared during the race and was never found.
The funding period on the film’s IndieGoGo crowd-funding campaign lasts only 11 more days—so, if this is a project you’d like to see come to fruition, check out the full campaign and learn more here.
