Bob Hayes didn’t start running until he was 61. Now approaching 90, he races 30 to 40 times a year, including 50K and 50-mile trail races.

What keeps this hardy Montanan going? That’s the subject of the upcoming film “The Hard Way,” by Jeremy Lurgio and Erik Petersen. The extended trailer, above, offers a glimpse of Hayes’s tough, persevering personality and enthusiasm for the trails.

The full film is available for rent or purchase on Vimeo on demand.

For more on Bob Hayes, check out this profile, written by Petersen in our June 2015 issue.
