For multiple years, Thabang Madiba has won the South African Trail Running Championships. He has no mountains to run on and fewer resources at his disposal than his trail running counterparts in South Africa. In fact, he is notorious for cycle to race locations.
Despite all his hardships, Thabang is greatful to be able to run.
Well I always say, trail running is my book of life, because I’ve learnt so much from it. Especially in the community of running because everyone there is happy. It’s only one thing that brought us there, is to run. You learn to be, to be you, you become yourself.
Thabang exhibits dedication, drive, passion and a caring attitude towards his township of Ga-Rankuwa in northwest South Africa. He hopes to inspire change and end the cycle of poverty in his community.
