WEIGHT: 8.2 oz
DROP: 4 mm
ROCK PLATE: Yes (forefoot only)
FIT: True to size, accommodates medium to wide feet
The mouthful-of-a-name Go Run Speed Trail Hyper was the lightest shoe we tested, clocking in just over eight ounces. Most of the weight is saved with the superlight mono-mesh upper, which is supportive, durable, and breathable. The mid-foot rocker supports a quick and efficient stride over soft trail and packed surfaces.
This colorful model has a sneaker-like, sporty fit through the mid-foot with a fairly roomy toe box and is great for cruising packed mountain-bike paths but doesn’t provide much protection or cushion for technical pursuits. This is your 10K trail racer and speed work shoe, built for running fast off-road.
PROS:
- Monomesh upper and hyperburst cushioning are very light
CONS:
- Monomesh upper can feel stiff and sharp when it folds around foot’s contours
