9.5 ounces / 11mm drop / $120

The Dirt: This trail machine features unique rocker technology, designed to smooth transitions for heel, mid-foot and forefoot strikers alike.
The AeroFoam midsole weighs 50 percent less than traditional EVA, shedding weight without compromising protection on rocky terrain.
Testers praised the comfort and protection afforded in such a lightweight package.
Best For: Everything from light, fast races to 100-mile runs in demanding conditions.
Traction: The Kinabalu performs well on a variety of terrain, from technical singletrack to sand to wet rock. It suffered some on snow and slick, muddy terrain.
Fit: Fitting true to size with ample width, the interior of the shoe is heavily cushioned, lending exceptional out-of-the-box comfort.
The Downsides: Extra-long shoelaces that loosen and come easily untied.
Tester-Monial: “They weigh less than traditional shoes, which makes them a good choice for short runs, yet they provide adequate stability and cushioning for longer outings.”
