Topo’s Rekovr recovery shoes (for women’s, click here) are great for those who need to stand or move around after a long run or hard workout (I’m looking at you: teachers, nurses, doctors, etc.). The Rekovr shoes are sized to be worn without socks, so if you live in a cold climate and need to wear socks in the winter, do plan to size up a half-size as their website suggests.
The OrthoLite footbed provides a comfortable cushion that is ribbed, providing light massage while walking. The Rekovr boasts a decent amount of support for a walking shoe. The wool-blend upper is soft and comfortable, especially after being in running shoes, though is not particularly breathable if you are prone to sweaty feet.
These are excellent recovery shoes for winter. The rubber soles are thick, strong and have lots of lugs; great for outdoor walks and even short hikes. The toe-box is large, which is great for post-run swelling or those who have large bunions, but gives the shoe a somewhat clunky look.
