• The winner drawn on January 4 for the 2007 race can choose to defer their prize to the 2008 race.
• All other entrants that did not win on the first draw will stay in the running for the second draw on July 2, 2007 for a 2008 race entry.
• Winners cannot transfer any portion of the prize package to another person or receive monetary compensation for usued parts of the prize.
• Guests travelling with the prize winner do so at their own expense.
• Winners are responsible for booking their own flights to San Jose, Costa Rica. We¬Ý recommend that the winner of the 2007 race entry book a flight arriving in San Jose, Costa Rica on the morning of February 3^rd, 2007 and a return flight departing San Jose, Costa Rica on February 11^th, 2007.

Contest Rules for The Coastal Challenge Costa Rica Race Entry

THIS CONTEST IS OPEN TO RESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES AND SHALL ONLY BE CONSTRUED AND EVALUATED ACCORDING TO UNITED STATES LAW. DO NOT ENTER THIS CONTEST IF YOU ARE NOT LOCATED IN THE UNITED STATES AT THE TIME OF ENTRY.

1. Only one entry per person/email address submitted through the web site or mailing in a card. Limit one entry per postmarked envelope. No mechanical reproduction of entries allowed. All entries, whether by web site or mail, must be received by 11:59:59 p.m. MST on June 30, 2007. All web site entries must be submitted from a valid e-mail account which may be identified by reverse domain name search. In the event of any dispute, entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the owner of the e-mail address from which the e-mail was sent.

Trail Runner magazine (hereinafter referred to as "Sponsor"), The Coastal Challenge, assume no responsibility for lost, late, illegible, misdirected, mutilated, incomplete, or postage-due mail/entries, or for computer system, hardware, software, or program malfunctions or for other errors, failures, or delays in computer transmissions or network connections that are human or technical in nature.

2. Drawing and Notification: One winner will be selected from all eligible entries in a random drawing on January 4, 2007 for the 2007 race. The second winner will be drawn on July 2, 2007 for the 2008 race. Winners will be notified by e-mail or phone within 48 hours after each drawing. In the event of noncompliance, or in the event any prize notification is returned as undeliverable, an alternate winner will be selected. Odds of winning are determined by the number of eligible entries received. The drawing will be conducted by The Coastal Challenge, whose decisions are final and binding in all matters.

3. Eligibility: The Coastal Challenge Costa Rica Race Entry is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Void where prohibited. Employees of The Coastal Challenge, the Sponsor and their respective parents, affiliated and subsidiary companies and the advertising and promotional agencies involved in the development, administration and execution of this contest and the immediate family (spouse, parent, sibling and children, regardless of where they live) and members of their same households (whether related or not) of such employees and directors are not eligible.

Winner of the draw on January 4 is not eligible for the second draw on July 2. All other entries received between November 3 and January 3 are eligible for both draws. Entries received after January 3 are only eligible for the second drawing on July 2, 2007.

4. Prizes: Two (2) grand prizes will be awarded to two separate winners (not to be from the same household) consisting of a race entry package redeemable through The Coastal Challenge. Travel must be completed by February 28, 2008. Additional race entries are sold by The Coastal Challenge and are accessible through www.thecoastalchallenge.com. Any options, extensions, and/or miscellaneous additional costs are responsibility of winner. If the winner cancels his/her trip after hotel booking have been made by The Coastal Challenge, the winner is subject to a $125 cancellation fee per room night. No cash credit will be given if winner cannot use the prize.

Winners’Äô Responsibilities: Winners are responsible for booking and paying for their own airfare to San Jose, Costa Rica. We¬Ý recommend that the winner of the 2007 race entry book a flight arriving in San Jose, Costa Rica on the morning of February 3, 2007 and a return flight departing San Jose, Costa Rica on February 11, 2007. Winners are also responsible for obtaining and paying for visas, shots, passports or other documents if required. Travel insurance is optional at an additional cost and recommended. Hotels listed are subject to availability at the time of booking and other restrictions may apply. Prize is not transferable. Winner and his/her guest will be solely responsible for all other expenses not specifically set forth herein, including but not limited to taxes, gratuities, souvenirs and any other incidentals. Cannot be used in conjunction with any other discounts or special offers.

5. General Terms & Conditions: No cash redemptions or substitutions permitted, except by The Coastal Challenge, who may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the featured prize becomes unavailable. By accepting prize, winner agrees to release The Coastal Challenge, Sponsor, their respective affiliates, subsidiaries and the advertising and promotion agencies involved in the development, administration and execution of this contest, and all their respective officers, directors, employees and agents, from all liability with respect to acceptance, possession or use of the prize awarded, including but not limited to any travel related thereto. By accepting prize, winner consents to the use of their name and likeness for advertising and promotional purposes by The Coastal Challenge and the Sponsor without additional compensation, except where prohibited.

If for any reason the contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other cause beyond the control of Sponsor or The Coastal Challenge that corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this contest, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the online portion of the contest and/or to select the two prize winners from among the entries received prior to the suspension or termination of the program; and Sponsor further reserves the right to disqualify any individual who tampers with or in any way corrupts the entry process. Automated entries are prohibited.

6. As a condition of entering, entrants agree: (a) to release Sponsor, its affiliates, subsidiaries, retailers, sales representatives, distributors and The Coastal Challenge and each of their officers, directors, employees and agents from any and all liability, loss or damage incurred with respect to the awarding, receipt, possession, and/or use or misuse of any prize, (b) under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and participant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, consequential, or any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses; (c) all causes of action arising out of or connected with this contest, or any prize awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; and (d) any and all claims, judgments, and award shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, excluding attorneys' fees and court costs.

CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

By entering, entrants agree that all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, participant's rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of the Sponsor in connection with the contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of State of Colorado, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules. By entering, entrants consent to the jurisdiction and venue of the federal, state and local courts located in Colorado.
