Trail Runner Magazine Redstone Winterfest and 5K Snowshoe Race
New Races and events enhance the 12th Annual Redstone Winterfest
OCTOBER 26, 2009, CARBONDALE, COLORADO—Celebrate winter’s splendor in the heart of the Rockies February 5 - 7, 2010, at the Trail Runner Magazine Redstone Winterfest in historic Redstone, Colorado.
On Saturday morning (February 6), run the 5K snowshoe race hosted by Trail Runner staff or learn snowshoe basics from some of the sport’s top competitors while demoing the latest in lightweight running and recreational snowshoes (online registration will be available soon; cost is $25. Race-day registration is also available). Even the kids can take part in a snowshoe fun run designed just for them.
There will also be free backcountry ski tours, cross-country ski races (classic and skate), a randonee race and ice climbing. Test out the latest ice-climbing gear and learn mixed-climbing techniques (climbing on ice and rock) from top ice climbers Will Gadd and Sam Elias.
To fuel your snowbound activities, sample top recipes in the chili cookoff and taste regionally brewed beers as you browse the winter-recreation gear expo.
